The Octokats have resurrected the relaxed sytle of jazz known as "West Coast". The very essence of COOL can be found in this style of music. One of the most famous West Coast Jazz musicians is Dave Pell. The Octokats lineup is modeled after that of his Dave Pell Octet. The instrumentation is tenor sax, baritone sax, trumpet, trombone, piano, guitar, bass and drums.
